Walk-about Heywood town centre

If you were out and About around Heywood Town Centre on Saturday 1st of August 2026 you may have seen one of our officer walking on the beat speaking to members of the public, giving safeguarding advice surrounding theft and fraud. If you were lucky enough to speak to PC Peverley you would have been given advice on keeping your cards and phones safe which store your personal information and further a little souvenir being a card case protector which stops people from stealing your banking information through scanners which individuals use to steal your information. 

Further to this PC Peverley attended shops and the surrounding area to keep an eye out for shoplifters. As you may all know shoplifting and theft is an ongoing and very prevalent issue within Heywood and by being out and about within the area looking for known offenders we can target and disrupt and deter any activity from these individuals by conducting Stop searches, checking if individuals are wanted and further by having a presence deter these offenders from committing offences.

PC Peverley will be out and about on foot as much as he can be and will try and continue to disrupt this kind of criminality which is affecting your local town centre.
